Hold Me UP 03:15
(Singing) Hold me up For I feel like I am made of glass And the wind Is blowing so fierce and fast If I fall I may shatter into dust Hold me down For I feel the need to fly away And I’m haunted By the fears of yesterday They ask me why Why would I even stay Hold me tight For I feel like I may come apart And this life Is tearing at my very heart It may stop Its beat and never restart (spoken) Hold me up for I feel like I am made of glass I am everything I fear of sorrows and laughter, I am the worst at what I am best A denial, A gift, the heart of the blessed I search to find my proper place without wind or without breath I am cold or I am burning I am joy or I am hurting I am distant yet connected Fully alive yet hollow inside set in my ways yet confused Like a sunflower in the storms every morning I claim as yesterday as what was for tomorrow even tomorrow will soon enough be gone as dust as ash Hold me up for I feel like I am made of glass

Euphrates 03:11
God said to Adam You have the keys to the kingdom The keys can’t get locked inside Adam heard the rules And the rules were the first to go Adam said to God I have a woman in the war She walks in your prayers Her eyes are like wine Some days I can’t see her You know I can’t let her go /// Adam said to God I sleep I sleep to wake I wake to sleep my waking slow Slow to learn Where I must go “The smoke between asleep and dreams” the clear blue undertow I saw myself far below I saw myself far below the sight of thin blue flames over a polished mountain range it all rests in the mother’s womb it’s never late and it’s never too soon /// There’s a fork in the river It carves the rocks smooth To shape our hands To shape the moon The water is clear as crystal The reflection of you From the river We cup our hands to drink From the river the trees drink From the trees fruits will grow From the fruit we eat we grow From us the spirit will flow

Cold shoulder, heavy heart Don’t fall down, don’t fall apart Sunshine shine down, shine on me Sing my soul a melody One foot in front One mile behind One flake of snow One soul to find One ember burns One palm of ash One sparkle left One eyelash The winter blooms low Like white sadness A dandelion Beside a pile of branches Looking out over The sea of seven pedals The ship prepares the night On the lips Of thousands of waves To carry the remains But lacking direction It turns to sing From one life to the next The winter didn’t expect It’s no accident to startle Suffer isn’t the word Suffer isn’t the word Suffer isn’t the word But listen… Listen to how As a drum in the rain as the meadow with a mouthful of snow Its belly full of tears in the most invisible voice The earth says to give to pass on life As eternity reflected upon The frozen eternal water One more puddle That just won’t dry One more chance To say goodbye One more flower Turns to ice The lakes been frozen Over twice On the dock Day by day One more chance To sail away Time it turns So Far away Waiting for Another day

Clothes 03:25
His clothes were made out of dreams At the stitch and at the seams He said one day I will be more I will rule and I will foresee I will tell you the meaning one day you will be running back to me He said you will reap what you sow He said I forgive you don’t you know His clothes were made of pure diamonds They shined like the stars Bowing down to him His clothes were soaked in bleach Faded to snow Faded to ghost His clothes were lined in holes At the knees At the shoulders At the heart His clothes were a mural Of filthy rags sown together all the tragedy he encountered And all the tragedy we encounter Can lead to restoration If we only open our eyes He wore a coat that was woven With the thread and needle of suffering The same thread that has woven our very own lives

The Guitar 08:33
The doors keep barking at the front screen door The dust keeps collecting In the corners of the floor The guitar of a woman Shines soft in the light Pouring in from the windows As the art of the sound And the rays spread wide Over the walls and the ground She said autumn is just around the corner and with it brings pain But more so laughter In the beauty of rain I said as the memories fall Like puddles in our hands Let’s run far away From the worlds demands She picked up the guitar And she strummed me a song I said we can’t stay here For too awful long We could travel the years We could travel the lands As long as I’m not far From the reach of your hands The guitar of a woman In between the strings There’s a garden of trust There is a heart full of dreams I’m beginning to see That home is where she is Home sweet home Home sweet darling You are my only home of all of all the silence I had wanted to say that silence sounded more like God. soon after, we heard bells chiming gently in the distance. Soon after the silence faded to the sound of rain, also landscape, also wind I had wanted to say that these hands of ours are more like cranes. I had wanted to say that memories vary in distance as the space between the stars I had wanted to ask the people of what America do you know? of all the nations caught in war, will you one day know what freedom is for? Of all the cities of slave brick streets of a hunger inhuman of all the homeless hugging the streets, my heart remains restless and homeless for you Of all the hurt that you know, I hope that you will let go of all the misery dwelling in your eyes, You know you've never looked surprised of all the lonely and the weak looking to be at rest, a longing inside your chest may you live in steadfast glory, may you never be in a hurry may you be clothed in patience and humility of all those who spend days working for wages and building paper house of all the winter icicles clinging to your bones of all the ones who traveled too many broken roads. of all the beauty found in the darkest hour of pain even in the darkness hold onto the light of all the silence I told them that silence sounded more like God soon after we heard bells chiming gently in the distance, It echoed from our ears to awaken our souls. I told them these hands of ours are more like cranes, that could be used to lift things that are much larger than this world. all the silence, we are all the same, we are many we are all the same, we are one

about

Our band is passionate about supporting the fight to end human trafficking. To this end, we will be donating 10% of the proceeds of this CD to Art 4 Abolition (Art4abolition.org) and 10% of the proceeds to She Has A Name (Shehasaname.com) to support their efforts.

Our name, 1001, is inspired by the story of "The Arabian Nights". In this story, a woman named Scheherazade marries a murderous Sultan and keeps herself alive by telling him tales for 1001 nights. She captures his interest and changes his heart with her words. Our use of spoken word and meaningful lyric stems from our own desire to change hearts and make a difference in this world.

We would like to thank God, our friends and family, everyone who had a part in helping us with this project, and our sponsors Scarborough and Flick Artist for their generosity.
